The ForeFlight Team

Tyson Weihs - Co-Founder, Principal Developer

I'm Tyson Weihs, a software entrepreneur and private pilot. My first venture was a Atension, Inc., a dorm room startup with Sheridan Chambers and Dan Cornell (now principals of the fast growing security firm Denim Group) that was acquired by a public company in 1999.

I then directed software engineering at BenefitFocus.com ("BF") where flying was a part of corporate DNA. Prior to ForeFlight, I was a venture partner with SMH Private Equity Group, helping to manage fund investments.

I am passionate about simple, high-quality software. I hope you find that ForeFlight's products reflect our collective passion for style, performance and utility.

Jason Miller - Co-Founder, Principal Developer

I'm Jason Miller, a software engineer by training and a private pilot by fascination. So far, I've earned my IFR rating and complex/high performance endorsements. I'm a proud co-owner of a Cirrus SR22.

Most of my flight time is in Cessna 172s and Cirrus SR22s. I keep a blog called Vectors To Final where I record my flights and keep a collection of links to other blogs and sites that I enjoy.

Adam Houghton - Principal Developer

I'm Adam Houghton, a software developer and iPhone enthusiast. I've written software that still chugs away at a wide range of clients, from Wyndham Hotels and Radio City Music Hall to the Texas State Prison System. My latest focus is the emerging wave of iPhone/iPad development and truly interactive web sites. I recently published articles in Dr Dobbs Journal and IBM developerWorks.

Krista Miller - Principal Developer

Hello, I'm Krista Miller, a software engineer by training, a private pilot by training, and a mommy-in-training!

I'm the lead developer of ForeFlight Weather, our first app for Google's Android platform. Now that I'm using these tools in my own preflight planning and actually understand the utility and impact, I feel a new pride for what we've created. I hope that you like them as much as I do and can integrate ForeFlight into your flying routine!

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) is a not-for-profit individual membership association, which effectively serves the interests and needs of its members as aircraft owners and pilots, and establishes, maintains, and articulates positions of leadership to promote the economy, safety, and popularity of flight in aircraft. Additional information about the association and the benefits of becoming a member is available online at http://www.aopa.org.

The AOPA and ForeFlight partnered to build the AOPA Airports app, the next generation of the AOPA Airport Directory for iPhone and iPod touch. The AOPA Airport Directory, first published in 1962, is cited by members as one of the top three benefits of AOPA membership. AOPA represents over 410,000 members, or more than 70% of the pilots in the United States.
